Seminars attended within three years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level may be counted. Seminars attended within two years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level may be counted for the Silver, Gold and Platinum levels.
NOTE: JBEI does not count as one of the 4 leadership development seminars required for the Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum levels. It only fulfills the Organizational Leadership Seminar requirement.
Guidelines for Evaluation of Potential Leadership Development Seminars
Seminars that meet the following requirements may qualify as leadership development seminars for organizational leader training purposes:
Seminars must be “church” leadership-based focus/environment, requiring “interactive” learning methods (Large/small group discussion, scenarios, roll play, etc.)
Minimum of 6 hours actual training sessions per seminar
Must have a “leadership skills” development focus
May include “secular” business seminars (work related). Secular based seminars are limited to no more than 2 qualifying seminars.
Allow accumulated session hours (6 hours minimum) to count toward one (1) qualifying seminar (Sessions must be at least 1 hour to count toward seminar)
Allow credit from higher learning educational institutions (BA and MBA) with business major (1 seminar for BA, 1 seminar for MBA)
Qualifying seminars attended within three years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level may be counted to encourage “continuing” leadership development.

Service Requirements
Service requirements must have been met within three years prior to submitting a Bronze level award application. Service requirements completed within two years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level may be counted for the Silver, Gold and Platinum levels. It is important to maintain ongoing service in the Royal Rangers ministry. For this reason we must continually ask “How can I serve today?” and look for new opportunities to serve. Approved service events for each level are defined as follows:
Qualifying Bronze Level Service Events
Serve on staff at a Junior Training Camp
Attend or serve on staff at a district Action Camp*
Attend or staff/teach at a continuous learning opportunity
Teach or serve on staff at a national training event
Qualifying Silver, Gold and Platinum Level Service Events
Do one of the following three options:
Serve on staff at a Junior Training Camp
Attend or serve on staff at a district Action Camp*
Complete another level in the Train the Trainer track of the Rangers Ministry Academy
AND one of the following two options:
Attend or staff/teach at a continuous learning opportunity
Launch and charter a new outpost in a church that does not currently have Royal Rangers
*Attendance at NTT, NCE, WNTC, or ANTC fulfills this requirement if it falls within the time limits outlined above. See the Organizational Leadership Levels Chart for more information on qualifying service elements.
Personal Goals
Personal goals are prescribed and set by each individual but must include physical, spiritual, family, ministry and career goals. You are expected to set goals for each tier and to ask someone to hold you accountable. A book that would help you in this area is The On-Purpose Person by Kevin W. McCarthy (www.on-purpose.com). Although this book is not required reading, it is highly recommended. Seek input from trusted individuals, such as your pastor, as you set spiritual development goals. You are expected to write out the goals, establish your deadline, and then back-plan incremental steps that will lead you to the desired outcomes.
Reading Assignments
Organizational leaders are asked to read books from selected lists, one book from the current Spiritual Manhood list and another from the current Servant Leadership list, for each level of training. You are also required to read one of the books on the approved list on the subject of personal grooming. In the event any of these books are available in audio format, listening to them carefully is acceptable. Books read to satisfy educational requirements may not be counted here. Reading assignments must be completed within three years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level. A key characteristic of a “growing leader” is reading; so for this reason, you are asked to read new books or reread previous books to get the greatest impact on your leadership growth and development. Keep reading!
Total number of books completed from the reading list when submitting applications for the level:
BRONZE - read 3 books total
SILVER - read 2 additional books (for a total of 5)
